Reducing Sprawl on Prime Farmland

The Ontario Government has responded to the Crombie ReportPlanning for Health, Prosperity and Growth in the Greater Golden Horseshoe: 2015 – 2041) and issued a report “Shaping Land Use In The Greater Golden Horseshoe”. This report focuses on protecting urban river valleys, and requiring cities to grow up rather than out. However, there is not enough in the report about protecting farmland on the outer edges of the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
